Megan McDuffee

Megan McDuffee is a multi-award winning video game composer, music producer, and electropop recording artist with a dark and sparkly vibe. Recently, Megan secured two award wins from the Annual Game Music Awards for her catchy original soundtrack for River City Girls, was featured on the front page of Bandcamp, received a nomination for a Music+Sound Award, and her debut full-length vocal release "Inner Demons" has held the number one electropop album spot on Bandcamp in the three weeks since its release.

Megan draws inspiration from a wide range of influences, including Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, IAMX, and 80’s film scores. Through swirling, dark, electronic textures, impeccable production, and vocals dripping with honey, she has made a name for herself in the video game, film, and music industries. Her impressive client list ranges from Position Music to Paramount Pictures, and she composes, produces, sings, records, and mixes all of her own work.

You can hear Megan's music featured in film trailers like The Predator, Annihilation, shows like Dancing with the Stars, the F Word, Chicago Fire, and many more. Her ethereal vocals and haunting melodic lines have landed Megan co-writes and collaborations with more than 40 other artists such as Scandroid (Klayton), Emmy-winning James Dooley, and Mitch Murder. She is currently working on 4 game scores, one of which is River City Girls 2, a chillwave instrumental album, and several vocal collaborations.

Megan McDuffee and FabFilter

Fabfilter was just one of those company names that kept popping up in production videos on Youtube, so I decided to take a peek many years ago. I'm so glad I did! Especially Saturn 2, Pro-C 2, Pro-L 2, and Pro-Q 3 have been absolute staples of my production process since I discovered them.

Most recently, I used Saturn all over my score to the game River City Girls as well as my debut album Inner Demons. I absolutely love the grit and crunch Saturn's guitar saturation presets give to retro synths! That's probably my favorite way to use it. Also adding that extra edge to a lead or backing vocal *chef's kiss.* Pro-C is awesome for subtle or deliberate side-chaining (it's my go-to for pumping bass lines), and a nice polish for the voiceover work I do as well.
