Joe Barresi

Joe Barresi has produced, engineered and mixed some of the most important hard rock, metal and punk bands of the last fifteen years. Although widely respected for his abilities as an engineer, Joe is first and foremost a musician and this greatly influences the way he makes records.

Over the years, Joe has consistently worked with quality artists and made some of their more seminal records. Tool, Queens of the Stone Age, Bad Religion, and The Melvins are just a few… His discography (www.joebarresi.com) reflects his impeccable ear for great rock music.

After learning how to play the guitar at an early age and studying music in various schools on the east coast, Joe made his way west to take a chance in sunny California. Many hours of assisting and learning different rooms and consoles ensued (and a lot of lucky breaks as well). Nine years ago Joe was able to fulfill his dream of having one place to call home, his own studio (JHOC, aka Joes House of Compression) where he continues to provide an environment for others to make music without distractions and hopefully achieve their goals as well.

Joe Barresi and FabFilter

"I can tell you that your FabFilter Pro-R reverb kicks ass! love it so much - thanks again!"

"I first learned of FabFilter when a friend told me about Timeless 2.... I had been in search of a software delay that had a three-dimensional quality that I got from some specific hardware units, and I didnt have to look far. So much flexibility, and a great filtering section and I was hooked. Since then Ive been trying their other plug-ins as well... Very impressed by how visual the GUI is, and how creative I can be with EQ and compression without getting bogged down with too many knobs and menus. I'm looking forward to trying the new reverb now as well.
