Logic and Portameto in Twin/Twin2

Twin and Twin2 have an annoying behaviour for me in Logic where the portamento will randomly jump to a high setting (something like 60%) for no reason. I have to set automation settings on any channel using Twin to force the portamento value to stay at zero.

This has been happening to me in both Logic 8 and 9. Is there any fix for it?

Strange! I've used Twin and Twin 2 in Logic 8 and Twin 2 in Logic 9 and never seen anything like this. I think it would sound pretty obvious. Can't imagine what it could be, unless a control is mapped to portamento.

This might sound pretty silly, but maybe pull the prefs files for Logic onto your desktop from your user account's Library/Preferences and let it create new ones? You also might pull the Logic folder from your user account's Library/Application Support and put that on the desktop. If things don't work out, you can always put these files back where they belong. Again, do NOT delete the files and folder. Just move them to the desktop.

Hope it works out for you!

Is it possible you have a MIDI keyboard attached with a knob or slider associated with the portamento parameter?

In that case, sometimes just tapping your desk or something similar could cause a slight movement in the knob, triggering the keyboard into sending the current position to the host which will in turn cause the value to jump to the seemingly random position of the knob.

Do you have a controller keyboard connected to your computer? Is it bus powered? Disconnect any controller keyboards that are connected to your system and see if the problem stops. I have had this issue where a controller keyboard was getting less than adequate power and causing setting to jump within logic.
