could you make a skin colour that of twin 1?
the orange and yellow.
it was much more inspiring to me than the current one.
i would do it myself but im just too stupid for things like this.

Hi, Anthony,

I actually prefere this skin! How do I install it?

Thanks

Shandor

very nice indeed. I would definitely want to use this. But I have the same question - how do you install it?

Larry

Just replace all of these files with the existing ones.

Not sure about the PC version, but on Mac just right click on the plugin and choose "show package contents" then open up the "contents" then "resources" folder. You should be able to place the new files here.

anthony

Actually, I'm sorry but I can't find it on PC. By the way, what a strange choice to download a new skin. Sendspace? You can't even download before registering.

Thank you
sH

Shandor

I use sendspace because you DON'T need to register to upload or download. There's also no wait times. You just click on the filename link @ the bottom.

anthony

Thank you, Anthony. Indeed, it was my browser bug and I'm sorry.

BUT, the problem still remains, even searching my whole file system, I didn't find the skin folder on PC (Vista 32, Wxp Pro). Do you have an idea where it is? On Pc I can't right click anywhere on the plugins, and clicking on the dll doesn't make appear anything special that could help change the skin. Sorry for bugging, but you brought this skin yourself, so.. :)))

Shandor

No worries. I'm sorry I can't figure out where the files are stored in Windows either. I have a feeling they're built into the plugin files. I'm sure there's a way to access them, just not sure how. Perhaps some kind of resource editor?

Anthony

Hi Anthony. I tried your instructions on my Mac and it doesn't work. (Besides, I could only Ctrl-Click because I don't have a right click mouse.) Where is the exact location of the folder to put this stuff in? Hope to hear from you soon!

Yellowhammer

Sorry, I forgot to say the new skin looks great! :-)

Yellowhammer

Are you using the Audio Unit?

anthony

Yes, the AU within Logic 8.02.

Yellowhammer

Yellowhammer, after you ctrl+click on the AU, select Show Package Contents. It should open up and a folder called “Contents” should be visible, open that up. Now a folder called “Resources” should be visible. Extract and overwrite all of the files in this “Resources” folder. Let me know if this works for you, if it doesn’t I’ll make an easy drag and drop solution for Mac users when I’m back on location tonight.

anthony

No, when I Ctrl-Click on the AU nothing happens: there is no folder called Contents and no folder called Resources. You must have a completely different system to me or something. I'm Intel Mac, Quad Core 2.93GHz, OSX 10.5.6, Logic 8.02. Thanks anyway! :-)

Yellowhammer

I'll be posting a simple drag & drop solution for Mac users tonight.

anthony

Ok, I made a drag & drop .dmg for the AU version. Just unzip the DMG file, open it, then just drag all of the files in the skin folder into the shortcut folder.

But that would irreversibly change the skin. Most people like to try out new skins before they decide whether or not to make a switch... Thanks for your effort and the image of your new Twin 2 skin does look cool, but sorry I can't use it unless there is an easy way to get back to the original skin and your method is also approved by FabFilter.

Yellowhammer

Hi Anthony and yellowhammer,

We don't support any skins for our plug-ins, so using any of the links/files here, is at your own risk.

And although we really appreciate Anthony's enthusiasm, please remember that officially, you may not change any of the plug-in files/binaries, as stated in our License Agreement ("You may not reverse engineer, reverse compile, or disassemble any of the files in the distribution").

Cheers!

Floris (FabFilter)

Hi Yellowhammer, as Floris stated there is no official skin support, so to use this skin the files do have to be overwritten.

The work around for keeping the original skin at hand would be to make a copy of the Audio Unit before overwriting the files.

anthony

Thanks but I'll stay with the original skin. :)
