Oftentimes when I'm soloing a band I think "well that's a cool sound", however I can't seem to replicate that with regular EQ moves. I've played around with high and lowpass filters with different Q values and db/oct etc, band passes, etc. It always seems more congested and less transparent trying to do it manually. You can actually kinda fix the solo listen when you have it active and then do a left click inside the plugin gui and then just click outside the plugin, but that's hacky and I wouldn't count on it lasting through a save+reopen.
