Pro-C M/S Compression from External
Hi,
I am demoing Pro-C and want to use it to duck a synth bus with the vocal track side chain.
I really only want to duck the Mid channel using the side chain vocal. I'd like to be able to leave the Synth bus Side channel un-touched. I can't seem to get the controls right to get this working.
Anyone got this working before?

Hi C-Gar,
Here's what you have to do:
First place a Pro-C instance on your synth bus, enable 'Expert Mode', set the side chain input to 'Ext' and the processing to 'M/S'. And of course, route your vocal track to Pro-C's side chain input. Now you have the basic settings right, so you can setup the Expert section.
The left combined knobs specify settings (gain and input mix) for compression applied to the Mid signal, and the right combined knobs for Side signal. Since you only want to compress the Mid signal, just turn the right gain knob (the inner one) all the way to its minimum (-36dB)
Next, setup the left combined knob. With the outer ring, you can specify which signal is used for triggering; either the incoming Mid signal, Side signal or anything in between. In your case, you can probably leave it at its default position in the center :-)
Cheers,
