Some Plugins not showing in pro tools but there in Logic

Hello,

I am running an Intel Mac with several fabfilter plugins using Logic and Fabfilter. I recently downloaded all of the new fabfilter updates individually and also updated Pro Tools to the latest version 2025.6. Now, some of my fabfilter plugins aren't showing in PT but they are there in logic. I went back to the previous version of PT just in case but they are still not there. The ones missing are Pro-MB, Pro L2, Simplon, Saturn and Timeless 3

Anyone else having this issue with any luck correcting?

Thanks

Scott

Hello

I am using Ventura 13.7.2. I tried reinstalling fabfilter etc but still certain ones aren't showing. I thought maybe I'd try going back to the older versions of fabfilter but there didn't seem to be a way other than deleting everything manually. All of the fabfilter plugins seem to show in logic etc

Hi Scott,

Can you confirm that the plug-ins are located in the AAX plug-in folder?

/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins

If they are but Pro Tools is not seeing them, can you see if trashing your preferences or plug-in cache makes a difference? Easiest way is to use Pete Gates application for this:

petegates.com/pgptprefs.html

hello Ralph,

I did try renaming my PT cache folder and moving it so that PT would recreate it. It crashed several times but eventually I got everything to work except the 6 fabfilter plugins still aren't loading. I checked and all of the fabfilter plugins are in the AAX folder

Hi Scott,

That's strange. Can you confirm the plugi-n versions you are running in Logic? You can see the plug-in version in the Help/About section.

What kind of computer are you using? Maybe it could be due to the limited intel support of Pro Tools 2025?

Hello Ralph,

Here are the versions I find in logic for the plugins not loading in PT
One. - 3.50 (intel 64bit)
L2 - 2.24 (Intel 64 bit)
MB - 1.31 (Intel 64)
Saturn 2 - 2.11 (Intel 64bit)
Simplon - 1.40 (Intel 64 bit)
Timeless 3 - 3.08 (Intel 64 bit)

I am using a
2017 iMac pro
3.2 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon W
OS - 13.7.2 (22H313)

Is there a utility to uninstall the Fabfilter plugins so I can just do a clean install? For the Softtube plugins I had a similar issue. Once I uninstalled and reinstalled, they showed up

Thanks
Scott

Hi Scott,

I'm afraid your iMac is not supported with the latest Pro Tools version:

We don't have an uninstaller for macOS, but you can simply delete the plug-ins from their respective folders:

MacintoshHD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/
MacintoshHD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST/
MacintoshHD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/
MacintoshHD/Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins/

Well .... Looks like the problem was cleared up when I deleted all of the plugins from the Avid folder and reinstalled them. They are all showing up now in Pro Tools. When I compare, the dates that were there for the files were from 2020 vs the dates there now from 2024 and 2025

Thanks for all of your help

just to be clear, I only deleted the fabfilter plugins and put them back. I had reinstalled them several times before this but for some reason they didn't replace what was there until I deleted the fabfilter plugins

Hi Scott,

That's interesting. Sound like a permission issue on your plug-ins folder, but we have not seen that before.

Glad you got it working and we'll see if we can reproduce this in house.
