Feature Request for Pro-R2

Love Pro-R2, best sounding and most flexible reverb out there. There’s one major feature that I’d really like to see added though.

I use Pro-R2 for reverb modelling a virtual space. This involves a lot of trigonometry to calculate pre-delays etc.

Altiverb and some other convolution type reverbs include a positioning feature in, where it’s possible to graphically position each source across 2 axis (width and depth), either in mono or stereo, just by dragging it around. Having that feature would eliminate most of the trigonometry.

Ideally this would also need to incorporate a way to angle the source and define it either as being unidirectional (with a 90 degree cone) or omnidirectional, with circular spread (since a drum will radiate outward, whereas a horn will project forward. Angling is needed for stuff like speaker cabs.

The plugin could then look at the distances of sources from the walls and easily calculate the pre-delays based on when the sounds hits the nearest wall.

If it were also possible to define the dimensions of a virtual space as length/width/height, then that would be even better. A plan view of the space would be more useful than the quasi 3D view in depicted in Altiverb.

Also… if it were possible to set each of the other parameters either local to that instance, or global to all instances, then this would make it a lot faster to setup and adjust a complex reverb model, since many of the parameters are likely to be in common.

If you want to be really cool then have defined source types, each with their own icon, and have an option for the plugin to display the positions of the sources from all instances.

Appreciate this is a lot to ask, but Pro-R2 is absolutely worth the effort.

Hi Craig,

The distance knob kind of does this. It will basically put the source further or closer in the virtual space.
