Saturn 2 Crashing Cubase Repeatedly

Cubase 13 crashing frequently on very fast PC, less than one year old. Behavior that causes crash is not consistent. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin. All system details in crash dump.

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for reporting this. Could you send us a short video that illustrates the issue? Please send it to info@fabfilter.com

Thank you in advance!

Maarten

Hi Maarten,

Unfortunately the crash is unpredictable and I don't know when it will happen - frequently I'm not touching or near the Saturn 2 instance when it happens. I have been dealing with frequent crashing of random origins and ended up having my RAM RMA'd after a bad memtest. The new RAM performs fine in Memtest, but the Cubase crashes 9/10 times list Saturn 2 as the source of the problem. That being said there could be an issue with the motherboard, etc. But I wanted to see if there was anything obvious to the FabFilter crew here. If I am able to snag a video of the issue I will share it.

My system builder believes it is a faulty intel 14th gen CPU. Will update if problem persists after replacement. Fingers crossed!

I have had no crashes on the brand new CPU since it's been installed. I am hopeful a faulty 14th gen intel CPU was the issue. If I do not update this thread it means that the CPU did indeed solve the problem. Hopefully this post is helpful for another user in the future.
