ProQ4 very very buggy

Hey there :)
I own almost all FF plugins are all are very solid and reliable.
Then comes proQ4 :(

-My protools crashes sometimes due to proQ4. Doesn´t happen with any other plugin.

-When I use external sidechain for the dynamics, it sometimes just stops reacting to the external signal. This is really bad, because I just see it by chance if I want to tweak sth. That destroys subtle mix decisions I took, and I don´t want to know how often it already happened without me noticing during a revision, where you don´t necesssarily pay attention to every minuscule detail.

-Yesterday, one track completely stopped playing back with proQ4 on it. It somehow messed with the session in a way, that I could only get that track to play back something, was to have any kind of plugin on the track...super weird.

Soooo, as cool as that plugin is, I have to say that it is unuseable for me, and burnt money...it´s a shame, I love that spectral feature a ton!

My system: Mac OS 10.14.6
DAW: Protools Ultimate 2022.6.0 (with hdx card)

If I can help fix that, I would appreciate!

the question is, does anybody care, and if so, what can be done?

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

We were not aware of these issues yet. Can you send us a crash report? Are there any steps to reproduce the crashes?

Regarding not listening to the side-chain, I have been unable to reproduce this. Again, if there are steps to do so please let us know.

Ralph (FabFilter)

Hi Ralph,
the crashes are very random.
As well as the non-responsiveness of sidechain-„listening“

I check if the crash reports from protools have been saved and mail them to the support mailadress!
cheers
