Pro-Q 4 new slope behaviour
Thanks for the great innovations in Pro-Q 4. Top.
Probem: When I create a lowcut filter at 30Hz and want to change the slope on the band control panel using the mousewheel (12dB/oct initial position), the scrolling behavior of Pro-Q 4 is now the opposite of the previous version Pro-Q 3&2. This means that when scrolling down, you can change the slope of Pro Q 4 from 12dB to 6dB. Whereas with Pro- Q version 3&2, when scrolling down, you could change 12dB to Brickwall, i.e. exactly the opposite. Is this a bug? Can this behavior be changed in the settings? It's totally annoying for my personal workflow.

Hi Mario,
This was a conscious change: in retrospect it just didn't make sense to scroll down to increase the slope, while for all other parameters you move the wheel up to increase the value. We also needed a bit of time to adjust to the new direction but we do feel it's worth it to make everything consistent. I hope you understand the reasoning here and will be able to get used to the new behavior.
Cheers,
Yes, that's what I thought - it makes sense. It certainly doesn't harm the long-standing love affair between Pro Q and me. Thanks for your answer Frederik
Just put the dropdown menu back please, that makes the most sense. Now with single click nothing happens - which makes no sense. With double click I can enter the numbers - which makes no sense. And if I click on the up and down arrows, nothing happens - which makes no sense. Not sure why this change happened.
Hi Adam,
You can simply click and move up or down, which will increase or decrease the slope. Holding shift will even do it without increments.
I agree with Adam that it would be nice to bring the dropdown menu back. I used to always click on the up/down arrows and choose the slope from that menu.
