Massive delay bug
Having a big problem. Studio one 7, M1 MacBook.
Everything is working fine, until I activate spectral processing.
And after deactivating only this function the audio is played earlier. Very strange.
Only with pro-Q4. So this is 100% a plug-in bug.
Fix it please

We'll look into this as well. :)
Cheers,
Hey,
I can reproduce that.
After activating Spectral Dynamics for the first time after loading up ProQ4 the whole channel got a big delay. Its gone after bypass/enable ProQ4 again.
File export is affected too.
MacBook Pro M2 - Sonoma
Cubase 14 Pro
Thanks for your work!
Simon
I can confirm the same on Win11 and Cubase 14, Nuendo 12.
Difference here is that the delay persists even on bypass !
I've already contacted the support and sent a desktop video showing this behaviour.
Looking forward for a fix.
Best,
David
I'm finding something similar, too!
When spectral is enabled on a track while the session is playing, the track in question is delayed. It seems to right itself after a few seconds. Pausing playback and then restarting with spectral turned on, also seems to fix the delay.

A fantastic update. Thank you!
Hi Vid,
That's normal. When you enable a spectral band, the plug-in will get more latency. This latency has to be compensated by the host, which can take some time. Some hosts only update the delay compensation when it's not in playback.
No this is not normal - This does not happen when I enable Linear Phase Max which introduces a lot of latency. Even during playback.
The host does compensate immediately. But not when I enable Spectral.
The latency for the plugin does not get updated or something. Please confirm from your side. This is a plugin problem.
Hi Rudi,
I was replying to Vid's post, where it does seem to update the latency but only when not in playback.
We're looking in to the compensation issues mentioned earlier.
Hallo,
Diesen Bug kann ich bestätigen.
Unter cubase 12,13,14.
Bitte beheben, ich nutze andere Spectralplughins wo so was nicht passiert.
Mein erster Fabfilter Eq und dann so was.
Danke
Happening here too. Cubase latest version, Apple M1. Delay doesn’t resolve itself. Instead the tracks play out of time until I close and reload the project. Any eta on a fix please? Thank you
Yes. Facing the same issue.
A workaround I found is to copy all automation. Remove the plugin and then put the plugin again and then paste all automation.
Super annoying because Im in the middle of a project.
We had an issue with this in the 4.00 version with Cubase, but it should be resolved in the latest 4.01 update. Can you try with this version?

Cheers,
I still have this weird bug issue.
I'm using Studio One 7.
I routed all my FX channels to single BUS channel, and tried pro-q4's spectral processing. Then the "dry channels" are playing "earlier" than all other channels. I think the latency reporting is still problem in Studio One.
I tested on 4.0.1 and this issue is being reproduced everytime I do the same chain, so I don't think its resolved.
Currently having this same issue on a mix in Pro Tools 2024.10.1. Only have 4 instances of Pro Q 4 (4.01), but every time the automation kicks on to enable one spectral processing band, the entire host stutters. Going over the same section again doesn't fix the issue unfortunately. Hoping this gets resolved soon.
I am still having this same issue, after the 4.01 update.
I started a thread about this a few days ago, just posted a video:
