Spectral Dynamics ?

Can someone explain to me simply, as I don't have a PhD in EQing, what spectral dynamics is and the advantages of controlling it?

Hi Bobby,

It's basically a dynamic EQ, but instead of increasing or decreasing gain on a complete band, the band is divided in lots of different areas. Only the areas that exceed the threshold will be adjusted.
