We originally thought we needed this, but we found that the track order almost always works. However, not all DAWs implement this yet. Which plug-in format and DAW are you using?

For ableton live and audio units I would really like natural sort to be applied so I dont get this order:

At the moment AudioUnits don't support the track order, but they should take over your track names. Could it be your tracks are simply named like this?

When you name a channel # something in Live it automatically assigns a non zero padded channel number in the name so if the plugin would use natural sort instead of what I assume is simple string comparison sort it would work

A natural sorting algorithm would correctly order those as

1 something
2 foo
3 bass
4 drums
5 ...
6

9
10
11
12
...

The instance list should actually sort the tracks based on the order in the host, but not all hosts and format support this yet. I'll see if we can sort naturally for numbers.
