Pro Q-4 PDC Bug (in Cubase 14)
Hi FabFilter!
Congrats on a very nice upgrade; already bought.
Just found a little minor issue. When adding a spectral band, the PDC values to the host (Cubase 14 in my case) are not updated until you either power-cycle the plugin or change the linear-phase resolution. However, deleting the spectral band updates PDC as expected.
Hope it's an easy (and quick) fix :)

Hi Rune,
I did a quick check in Cubase 13 and couldn't reproduce the issue: the delay compensation was updated immediately. Maybe it's a Cubase 14 thing and I'm downloading that as we speak.
What I did:
- Create a session with two duplicate tracks with audio
- Pro-Q 4 on both of them, no bands, Zero Latency
- Add one band to Pro-Q 4 on the first track, make dynamic
- Set it to Spectral
If PDC was not working correctly, this should offset the two tracks in time, but Cubase updated immediately and this didn't happen. But maybe your scenario is a bit more complicated?
Cheers,
Hi! I also want to add that I'm having the same issue as Rune in Cubase 14 with the spectral band. PDC does not update when enabling spectral bands.
I'd like to add:
-Tested on both mac and pc
-Workaroud is first making a band dynamic, then spectral. This seems to update the PDC
Got it. I can reproduce the bug by clicking Make Spectral in the band menu. We'll investigate and fix it in the next update.
Thanks!
Very nice, thank you Frederik!
Is there a "short hand" way of creating / enabling the spectral features besides "Make spectral" from the context menu? That's what i gathered, since you didn't hit the bug initially?
You can also create a regular dynamic band first, and then click the Spectral button (right on top of the gain/dynamic range knob) to enable spectral mode.
