FabFilter User Forum

Plugins work great (during trial) on Linux but will registering break compatibility?

I'm interested in buying the Pro Bundle.

Did any of you buy & register FabFilter plugins for use on Linux+Wine+yabridge? Do the plugins continue working on Linux after registration?

During trial period, FabFilter plugins are working great (for me) on Reaper for Linux (using Wine and yabridge for Windows 64-bit plugins).

Basically, I'm worried about copy protection code (if any) run by "it is now after 30 days or is seems registered, let's check for unauthorized use" maybe breaking compatibility with Linux+Wine.

To answer my own question, I purchased the Mixing Bundle and every plugin I registered is working 100% perfect on Linux (for my setup).

CPU usage is very efficient while processing audio if the plugin's GUI is not being displayed.

My setup is Reaper 6.83 for Linux (Fedora), Wine 9.15, and yabridge. I'm using alsa-scarlett-gui for the audio interface software.

BTW, I think new or updated plugins from a lot of vendors will stop working on Linux because the latest JUCE framework uses Direct2D 1.3.

Thanks for making great software and trouble-free license management!

Hey Faye,

currently in the process of setting up everything on Linux, very similar setup to yours.
I cannot enter my license key in the Licensing window, it does not seem to register me clicking on the “Enter License” button.

How did you manage to do that?

Okay, “fixed” my own issue.
It's a bug with the GUI, the cursor clicks way down and to the right. Check this issue on github: github.com/robbert-vdh/yabridge/issues/40#issuecomment-2512607405
