XML preset files?

I searched out the preset folder and learned that .ffp presets are not serviceable with a text editor.

I guess I have been spoiled by using REAPER, and had hoped that I could use a robust text editor to work with FabFilter presets.

For my use, I rarely use store-bought presets but use many subtle variations of homemade presets.

The impetus to look at the preset files in a text editor, is a desire to efficiently reorder band numbers so that they read in order, left to right, with complex presets that accrued a large quantity of band nodes not placed in order when they were created. I had hoped to do some housekeeping, so it was easier to migrate the parameter settings to systems that may not benefit from FabFilter dsp.

Thank you!

Has FabFilter considered using XML formatting for preset files?

Hi,

We just moved to a text-based preset format with Pro-R 2. We're looking into supporting text-based presets for our other existing plug-ins as well.

Cheers,
