Leveling a range of frequencies with dynamic band in Pro Q3
Hello,
I have an acoustic guitar track I recorded close miking with an LDC, made with an arpeggio "a la Paul Simon", to get the idea.
After manually levelling the track, taking care of the few peaks, the most of the bass notes are lower that what they shoul be but in a few places they are the volume.
Only in that range of frequencies (70 to 250Hz) I would like to increase the level of the lower notes leaving untouched the ones already at the right level:
- can I do it with a Pro Q3 dynamic band?
- If yes, how should I set it up?
- do I need to work in the opposite way? Highering everything and then taming only that frequencies?
Thanks.

Hi Fabio,
Pro-Q 3 does not let you expand the lower notes, like for example Pro-MB would. In order to level out the notes with Pro-Q 3 you would indeed increase the gain of the more quite notes, and dynamically compress the louder notes. Make a dynamic shelf, increase gain until the low volume notes are ok, and increase the dynamic gain to the high peak notes are compressed.
