the choppy graphics go away when i use this solution www.fabfilter.com/support/faq/#how-can-i-disable-graphics-acceleration-on-my-computer
but now its running at something lower than 144hz so its noticeably not as smooth as if i were to keep graphic acceleration on. Is there a workaround for this?

Are you using the latest 3.21 version of Pro-Q? We improved some things regarding higher frame rates in this version.
