EQ match Pro Q3 - Cubase 11

Hello,
I was using Q3 for a while as regular eq. Works perfect.
Today I decided to start using EQ match.
I have one track of violins and second track of cellos.
I followed instructions from the FF site, from YT, and many others. However after running the audio, my "Match" button is still greyed out. I can't click it.
Quick explanation of the process:
1. Place q3 on strings track
2. Click "side chain" button on
3. Side chain routed to the cellos track
4. Click EQ Match
5. Choose External SC
6. Play audio.
"Match" button still grey.
Running Pro Q 3 2.0
Cubase 11.0.30

Hi Ewa,

You have to record some audio both of the source track as the reference track. If yo have created a spectrum for both of them you should be able to click the Match button and create a curve.

Ralph,
Thank you for your respond.
You are referring to "standard" EQ Match. I forgot to mention that what I'm trying to do is call "Inverse EQ technic" and it is use to separate the frequency spectrum of two similar instruments or groups.
In this matter I shouldn't have to record any audio since I want to use "external side chain" as the signal input.
That is what is not working.
I learned - I thought - that from Pro Q 3 tutorial from Sage Audio.
However it is not working for me.

Can you please help?

You use the external side-chain as your reference, but you still need to record a spectrum for both the reference and the input. Otherwise Pro-Q 3 will not know what to compensate for. As you can see in the video, both the input and the reference input are set to "record" with the red button.
