Volcano3 KB Track
Question about KB track. I am trying automate a bell filter band in Volcano 3 so that it follows the fundamental tone of Virtual Instrument in Logic X. It works fine except when playing large intervals, as the MIDI note changes, and subsequently the frequency of the filter, there is a "pop" of sorts. Is there an additional parameter to smooth out KB Follow so that the movement isn't so sudden, causing a pop? Or perhaps, the peak parameter on a MIDI note release?

Hi S,
Interesting. It is a bit hard to conceptualise from reading alone. Could you send us a short video that illustrates the issue? Please send it to info@fabfilter.com.
Thanks in advance!
I have occasionally wished I could control the glide time for KB Track in Saturn, Volcano and Twin, instead of KB Track switching positions at whatever quick glide time (I assume there is a tiny bit of automatic smoothing and its not instantaneous) the plugin uses by default. I believe this goal is what the original poster is talking about. If KB Track makes a large jump in a filter frequency near instantaneously there could be undesirable audio pops/clicks. Power to make the KB Track glide time very slow would also be great for creative reasons (allowing KB Track to slowly sweep towards its final resting place for each new midi KB msg).
Re Andrew, yes that's the idea. Or, if not that, a way to make the peak back off before a note change. I suppose that this could be done by assigning the peak to some midi CC, backing it off before each midi note change, but that would require a bit of midi CC drawing.
Or, perhaps two instances of Volcano 3, where each one is assigned every other midi note. Hmm...
Either way, I'm going to send a vid to the email address Maarten provided and see if they have any ideas!
