Adding automatic make-up gain to your state of the art EQ would make it so much more useful and efficient in the workflow of everyday situations. There are many instances, where you want to hear, if the crazy EQ you did actually changed the signal for the better, or if it only sounds better because it became overall louder/quieter.

With an automatic make-up gain, the process of matching the loudness post-and pre-EQ will become obsolete. But at the same time it would be good for one to be able to adjust the automatically calculated value manually too. Also it should be implemented as a button, so one can turn it on/off easily.
