I just thought I’d make you guys aware of a situation I have experienced using Timeless, Pro-C and Volcano (fully registered versions) with Adobe Audition 3.0.
Audition cannot “remember” the settings I use in any session. In other words let’s say I have Pro-C’s vocal setting “Control” assigned to a couple of bus tracks, Timeless assigned to a track using the “Basic Stereo Delay” and a Volcano “High-Cut” preset on another track.
I can “save” the session, yet when I close the session then reopen it all of the plugins have reverted back to “default” settings.
This is not exclusive to FabFilter, as I have also seen this behavior while using “Replicant” from Audio Damage and the suite of DirectX plugins from Sonitus.
Oddly, this situation isn’t universal. With the VST version of Izotope Ozone Audition remembers my preferred settings perfectly and the freeware VST plugin GlaceVerb is also recalled correctly.
I do not experience this issue at all with Sony Acid Pro 6.0 and, of course, the RTAS versions of FabFilter work perfectly.
I’ve opened a trouble ticket/bug report with Adobe and one of the Audition developers has been able to recreate this error.
While I am as certain as I can be that this is an issue endemic to Audition (and not FabFilter) I thought you might want to know of it.
I hope they fix it because it renders me unable to work with Audition efficiently, as I use Timeless and Pro-C in every project I work that comes across my desk.
