Mac with integrated or dedicated GPU for FabFilter plugins?
Hi,
I am considering to buy a new MacBook Pro or iMac for Logic Pro X and FabFilter plugins (Mastering bundle).
Would a dedicated GPU be better for the FF plugins' graphics acceleration usage? Would Logic's and the plugins' overall performance even benefit at all from a dedicated GPU or would the integrated Intel Iris GPU be sufficient?

Hi Sven,
Earlier 13" Retina MacBook Pros were struggling a bit with our interface acceleration, but I believe every Retina MacBook Pro that you can buy today will have plenty of GPU power for our purposes, especially the 15" ones. Same goes for the iMacs. I don't think the GPU is used by Logic for processing.
Cheers,
I have a late 2013 MBP Retina (lowest confuguration... 2,4 GHz, 8 GB RAM) and the FabFilter plugins' GUI caused system overload errors with Logic until I disabled the graphics acceleration.
