Old FL studio project troubles

Hi everyone,

I used Fabfilter on FL11 and it worked great, today I uninstalled FL11 and installed FL12. I relicensed all the FabFilter plugins in FL12 (I did not reinstall them, I could find them with FL12 so only relicensing). Now, everytime i try to re-open some of my FL11 projects, FL12 says it cant find my FabFilter plugins. I can however, open them without problems in FL12 and they work fine. my question, is there something I can do to make them work in FL12 with old projects made in FL11. FabFilter plugins are VST3 plugins, all 64bit.

note: when I open the old project it says its searching for "FabFilter (product name)". In FL12 their new name is "FabFilter (product name) [64bit]". Could this name change be the reason?

note edit: I changed the name from FabFilter (*product name*) [64] to FabFilter (*product name*) in FL studio 12>Data>Patches>Plugin database>Effects>Fx-EQ> and FL studio 12>Data>Patches>Plugin database>Installed>Effects>VST3>. This way the plugin got the same name as the program name that is being searched for by FL12. It didnt work

Hi Chris,

Is it possible that with the old projects that don't load anymore, you used the VST2 FabFilter plugins in FL Studio? You can just make these available in FL12 as well by setting the right folders in Options > Manage plugins.

Cheers,

Frederik (FabFilter)

I fixed it. For some reason the VST2 plugin versions didnt work so I reinstalled them, everything works like a charm now. Thanks for helping me out and suggesting the VST2 thing.

Cheers,

Chris
