Active crossovers for HTPC
I will be using.

Reaper DAW
I am looking for a VST plug-in that will work inside of Reaper.
I know that Fab filter Pro MB was not designed for this purpose. I wanted to know if you created a three-way system and designated the appropriate signal to each of the drivers would this be possible. I also wanted to know. Could you delete the signals that was not appropriate for the driver so that when you use the EQ you could not accidentally exceed the crossovers and damage the drivers.
I am not very knowledgeable about sound equipment. I am just trying to get a better quality results from my speakers. Any help along this line would be appreciated. Any knowledge about the best DAC and multi channel amplifier that could be used for this purpose. I would appreciate.
Hi Jack,
Although Pro-MB was not designed for this purpose, you could use it as a band splitter. I assume you have a suitable six-channel audio interface. In Reaper you could then set up three stereo outputs, put a copy of Pro-MB on each of them, and design the bands such that they split equally. Personally I don't think it will be worth the trouble; you're probably better off buying a pair of decent speakers with internal crossovers and driving them through a regular stereo amplifier. :-)
Cheers,
I want to thank you for your reply.
I just completed a pair of stereo three-way speakers, that have 12 inch woofers in them. I was able to use a box inside of a box for all three drivers. I attached the inside boxes only to the front panel, with spacer blocks between the two. I attached rings of MDF to the inner box so the drivers could be attached. I injected silicon in the bottom, sides, top and in the front panel until it came out around the rings. This process basically eliminated the speaker from vibrating, resonating. I attached a fatigue mat(the kind you stand on) to the back of the speakers enclosures. This is a great acoustic foam.
I played music from my PC through a Pro soundcard(juli@xte) to a 80 W per channel Marantz receiver. I compared my sound system to a $4000 stereo speakers in a high-end store. Mine sounded just as good.
My next project is to build a HTPC. My motherboard will be a MSI Z170A gaming M9 ACK. It has a soundcard with a ASIO driver. Instead of buying a Marantz with a surround sound 5.1 or 7.1, I decided to do a active crossovers. I only need a DAC and a 12 channel amp to get started.
I would like to know if the Fabfilter Simplon would work for me, or would I need Fabfilter Pro MB.
If you have any expertise with soundcards. I would like to know your opinion of the soundcard that is on the motherboard that I mentioned.
