No Gain Reduction with external side chain
Hello,
I have set up a Pro-C on a track in Ableton live and have set it to be triggered by another track as described in the Fabfilter manual. I can here my source track when I hit the "audition" button on the Pro-C but no matter what other settings I adjust I am not hearing, or seeing any gain reduction. I have tried extreme threshold settings and other things but so far nothing. What am i missing here? Thank you for any help. All the best,
Darren

Hi Darren,
Are you using Pro-C version 2? So if I understand you correctly, you're hearing the side chain (trigger) track when you enable Audition. That confirms that sidechaining is set up correctly. Now turn off Audition, and check the meter around the Threshold knob. It should show you the trigger signal. If you now lower the Threshold, and make sure to use a non-zero Range and have Ratio set to a bigger value than 1:1, you should start seeing gain reduction in the display. Hope this helps!
Cheers,
I have the same issue.
Doing the Kick/bass sidechain thing, The Pro-C shows the kick hitting the input and gain reduction but no effect on the bass other than distortion?
Hi Tim,
Does increasing the Release time help you?
Cheers,
No.
