Sidechain and Fabfilter in Live
HI,
I want to play a Midi Track using Zebra into Fabfilter, but trigger fabfilter via a different midi track (or playing live).
I got it setup in Logic X - using bus and sedition with 2 tracks but cannot get it to work in ableton live.
Thoughts? Thanks!!

I have my Zebra Track routing out to another midi track with volcano. When I click on volcano's output selector and select SideChain - I hear the Zebra Track. I also see Midi coming in on the little "LED" blinking. But no sound once I select Output.
Can this not be done in Live?
I believe the MIDI routing options in Ableton Live are just not flexible enough for what you want to achieve. In my testing it always sends MIDI to all the plugins that are on that track and that's about it.

Sure you can do that in Live.
You have a track with Zebra and Volcano
Make a new MIDI track (make sure there are no audio devices inserted)
In the new MIDI track, go to the boxes that say MIDI out, and select the Zebra track in the first box, and then Volcano in the second.
That's for the Live part.
For Volcano, insert an envelope generator as mod source
Select MIDI input as trigger in the envelope.
Or - if you want to do a keyfollow, insert a MIDI source as mod source.
Assign them to something and be amazed :)
