VST vs VST3 in Studio One - reason to keep both?

I'm run Studio One 3.2.1 as my DAW on Mac. I have 4 instances of each FF plugin, the AU, the VST3, the VST, and VST mono.

1.) I'm assuming the VST3 is mono OR stereo and will adjust according to the track settings? Is this assumption correct?

2.) If I'm using VST3, is there any reason to keep the VST and VST-mono versions around, or can I tuck them into an unused folder to keep my plugin list cleaned up?

Thanks.

Kip

Hi Kip,

1. Yes, and also for AU. Only VST2 requires a separate mono plugin.

2. No you can just move or remove them. You only need one format -- unless you need to be able to open sessions created by someone else with e.g. the VST2 plugin.

Cheers,
