virus included?

Newly, it's binary, isn't a virus included?
If it was downloaded and it was installed this morning, Norton AntiVirus reacted, and uninst.exe was eliminated and a stripe was done.
If it was a virus as SAPE.Ueur.AABC1, it was called.
I'm Japanese user.

Hi Kageyu,

Did you download from our official website, www.fabfilter.com/download ? These downloads are 100% safe of course!

Cheers,

Probable false positive alert resulting to uninstall program removed by anti-virus. Except that, plug-in normally installed and fully functional. Remediation would be for Fabfilter to request Symantec whitelisting uninst.exe.

Remy

We've noticed this before already and have requested Symantec to whitelist the executable. They confirmed that they will do this in the next virus definition update.

So this is safe to remove from quarantine? I downloaded from FabFilter and it shows the heuristic virus (Malware)...

Dana James

Definitely. If you downloaded from www.fabfilter.com the installer is 100% safe.

Unless you're victim of a man-in-the-middle. I think it's probably only true to say the installer is 100% safe if you've also validated the digital signature chain on the download.

tack

That happens automatically on Windows because the installer is signed with a digital signature that proves it was made by FabFilter. If the installer was tampered with, Windows will warn you about this when you try to run it. OS X is similar.
