Pro-L latency
Hi,
Just wanted to ask a quick question about the latency of Pro-L. I was messing around it in Ableton and usually one would expect the oversampling to increase the latency, however Pro-L actually decreases it's latency with higher oversampling - Off gives 476 samples (10.8ms), x2 is 412 samples (9.3ms), and x4 is 353 samples (8ms).
Out of curiosity, why is that?
Thanks for your help.

For Pro-L's internal processing, we use a fixed number of samples of latency, in addition to the latency added by lookahead. When using oversampling, you're essentially running the internal processing at a higher sample rate, which reduces the latency *time* used by the internal processing. That explains what you're seeing.
Cheers,
