Pro-C2 calibration of threshold ??

Compared to other ITB compressors Pro- C2 seems to start gain reduction at much higher (closer to 0db) threshold settings.

In fact when used on the stereo bus I'm finding there can be some GR going on at 0db which is similar to what would be going on with other compressors with a threshold of say -10db.

I can control this by tweaking the input gain in Pro-C2.

But I'm interested to hear some comments about this behaviour.

Is there a way to calibrate what 0db threshold represents ?

I'm very happy with Pro-C2, so transparent even with 7 or 8db of GR.

But the threshold baffles me a bit.

I think it's the soft knee. Have you tried it with the knee set to hard?

Bram

Brilliant, yes it was extreme soft knee settings.

I've only had the Pro-C2 for about a week and it turns out that each preset I tried had soft knee settings of at least 60db.

Thanks very much, really appreciated.

I'm not a preset junky, just that I saw bmanic had done a few and as I like his work I've tried a few of them just to get a feel for what is possible.

Cheers

Great, no problem! Glad that did the trick!
