Gain reduction in Studio One Mixer

Just wanted to say thank you for visualising the GR in the Studio One Mixer. Very well implemented.

Thanks! :-)

This was a pleasant surprise for me as well, when I first loaded up an instance of Pro-C 2. I gleefully tweeted and posted everywhere about it afterwards. :P

Just a nice little feature of Studio One 3 (don't know if any other DAW's do it as well) that I'm happy got supported. :)

On that note I have a small question. How does implementing something DAW specific work?
Do the plug-in standards support checking for a specific object/function, or do you have to check for DAW ID/name and version strings/numbers to find out what you can and can't do?

Just a bit of nerd curiosity. :)

Hi Torben,

This works via extensions to the VST2 and VST3 specs that any host or plugin manufacturer can implement. We implement extensions from Presonus and Reaper. See e.g. www.presonussoftware.com/en_US/index.php?id=developer.

Cheers,

Alright, so an extension is only loaded if the host supports said extension - that's nice. :)

Thanks for the answer and indulging my curiosity! :)
