Import Pro-Q settings to Pro-Q 2 ?

Hi!
I just wondered whether and how we could import settings that we made on Pro-Q (.tfx) to Pro-Q2 ? I've just upgraded and deleted Pro-Q, and would be quite annoyed to lose the dozen of presets I already worked on ^^
Thanks!

Julien

hi Julien,

First of all: no need to delete Pro-Q v1! The two versions will hapily live together and keeping Pro-Q 1 will ensure that you can open old projects without problems.

To open old settings from Pro-Q 1 in Pro-Q 2, you can save them as a FabFilter preset (via the plug-ins own preset menu). Then you can open them in Pro-Q 2!

Shame I already deleted Pro-Q1... Is there a way to recover it with the license of Pro-Q 2 I just bought?

Julien

Hi Julien,

Sure! You can still download it from www.fabfilter.com/support/downloads !

Hello,

I saved all of my Pro-Q settings in a few session so I could open them with Pro-Q2. They saved as .tfx files, which it seems that Pro-Q2 uses as well.. but they will not load in Pro-Q2. When I go to "Import settings" in Q2 I get:

"These files are not valid settings files for the plug-in"

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Alex

Hi Alex.

You need to export the settings inside the plugin itself. It will save the presets into the "%docs%\FabFilter\Pro-Q" folder as *.ffp files as default or you can choose where to save the presets.

In Pro-Q, click where you see the preset name (the bit that usually says "Default Setting"). In the dropdown menu, select "Save As" from there. This will save your preset as *.ffp instead.

In Pro-Q 2, Click the preset name to drop down the menu again and choose: Options-->Open Other Preset... You can import individually this way.

Or you can do what I did:-

I saved all of my Pro-Q presets in the default FabFilter folder and they are all accessible in the Pro-Q 2 preset menu under "V1 Preset Folder".

Hope this helps.

Jim.
