Noob Question About Pro-C Input Level Meter

Just getting to grips, well trying to, with compression and there's something simple I don't understand..

What is the input level meter in the Pro-C measuring exactly, as it doesn't seem to match any of the level meters in Cubase?

Shouldn't it?

Thanks-

ARNK

The input meter measures the level after the Input knob in Pro-C. If you leave the Input knob at 0 dB, it should be the same as the track input. Cubase shows the final track output though, which should match the Pro-C's output level if no other plugin is following it.

Note that the meters in Cubase have different ballistics so they will release in a different way and generally look a bit different.

Cheers,

Also note that Pro-C's input meter only shows the left channel, so on sources that aren't completely panned centre, you will also see a difference from other meters.
