I know that this topic has been debated a lot of time on a lot of forum and that there's a lot of article talking about this, from people respected in the audio industry, including Lavry's ones about oversampling and optimal sample rate, but my question is more specific to FabFilter's plugins, so a little lightening would be appreciated.
So I've noticed that your Pro Series of plugins offer oversampling to avoid aliasing problem in the audible spectrum as well as Saturn while the other FX (Volcano, Timeless) don't (or I didn't find the options...), for Timeless I understand that because it doesn't really change the incoming signal there's no real reason to over sample the audio but I saw also that Volcano's filter go way far than 22Khz.
Well I'm interested to know what is the goal of having the possibility to have non audible frequency unfiltered by Volcano ?
The, does it worth to record a pure analog path at 88.2k or 96k or even 176.4k or 192k instead of 44.1k or 48k for processing sound trough your Pro plugins in term of aliasing improvement ?
Will the Pro Series plugins over sample audio file that are already at 192k at 384k or 768k ?
If it's the case, is there any interest to accumulate 192k original sample rate + x4 oversampling ?
