Output clipping on saturn

I played a bit with the Saturn today and the output level parameter seems to behave a bit strangely. The more I crank the output the more saturated the sound becomes. And I am not talking about the hard clipping that is introduced if the output is pushed above 0dBfs. Is there a clipping/nonlinear stage after the output level in the Saturn?

Yes indeed, there's a clipping stage on the output as well.
