recommended input gain for Saturn
Hello,
I am taking part in an online class for mastering at the moment. We were hinted towards the fact, that especially saturation plug-ins rely heavily on not overdriving the input. It was mentioned that most of them work best if not driven above -12dB Peak at the input stage.
Is this also true for Saturn ? For instance if I just want to use it for slight Tape or Tube effect in the mastering stage, should I take it down in the input and boost at the output to avoid artifacts ?

If you hold alt (might be option on a mac???) and click and drag the input gain up and down the output gain will move in the equal and opposite direction, allowing you to alter the input gain without changing the overall output level. This is really useful for judging the input gain staging.
I have found the input gain will affect the sound you get out of the plug-in.
