Though the increasing prevalence of midi learn and VST3 sidechains have helped a bit, the biggest hickups/hassles in my workflow are still automation and triggers. One gate feature that would be really nice is "the ability to generate a MIDI note whenever the gate opens" like the PreSonus Studio One gate has.
