Pro-Q causing buzzing on low freq sources

I've noticed using pro q on low frequency sources like basses and sub kicks is creating a strange "crackle" or "buzz" ..

It's got nothing to do with my project buffer etc, I still have plenty of cpu headroom.

Any ideas?

Sometimes it improves by changing to linear phase, sometimes not.

I'm busy mixing an album with lots of pro-q and after discovering this I feel like I cant trust this eq anymore.. using an alternative for now.

This can occur if you use a 'low' Linear Phase mode with steep low-frequency filtering. In Zero Latency mode, it should never happen.

"low" latency does seem to be the worst culprit, I'll experiment and see.
