Cubase 6.5.4 crash with Timeless 2. Just need an opinion
Hello FabFilter!
I believe that Timeless2 didn't crash by itself so I just need an opinion about Cubase 6.5.4. I don't think I can document the error very much since Cubase lacks a proper error log.
I'm looking for a DAW that is stable. Does FavFilter have any favorites?
Thank you!
This is part of my original post in the Steinberg Cubase forum. Here is the link too:

I've been updating my system (Windows 7 Professional x64). Every plugin is updated and I've been listening to FabFilter Timeless 2 (VST3 64bit) presets and suddenly I get the error captured in the attachment, it happened at least 5 times this morning. The message is
Runtime Error
R6025 - pure virtual function call
And later:
A serious problem has ocurred.
When I search for the Cubase6.Log file I find no such file, not even hidden.
Hi Felipe,
Thanks for reporting this issue! Do you get this error often? Are there specific steps that always lead to this error? We'll try to reproduce this and see what happens!
Hello Floris
I had the problem a few times and when I tried to make the screen captures it took me a bit of time replicate it so I didn't find steps, it was mostly putting the sequencer in a four bar loop with Kontakt 5 playing a piano sequence and me moving knobs and changing presets on FabFilter Timeless 2
No log file was ever generated and I'm sure it will happen again.
I've complained about the lack of log files and safe mode in the Steinberg forum a few times, I just updated everything that I could to 64bit/vst3 too but finding out that stability was just as bad was very dissapointing.
I don't know if this is a Timeless 2 problem but I personally think it more a Steinberg problem that Cubase crashes when an external plugin does. It should be very stable like Chrome, every instance of a plugin with its own process and if one crashes the others do not.
Hi Felipe,
We have had one other report of Timeless 2 crashing in this way, so I'd like to find out some more information. Cubase can also write crash dumps to My Documents\Steinberg\CrashDumps. Can you see if there are any recent files in that folder, and send them to us via the contact link at the bottom? (Maybe use e.g. Wetransfer if they are very large.)
Also, at the point where Cubase shows the crash dialog ('pure virtual function call'), you can save a crash dump yourself: open Task Manager by right-clicking on the Windows task bar, locate Cubase6.exe on the Processes tab, right-click and click Create Dump File. This will certainly be a very large file, best sent via Wetransfer.
Thanks!
Hello!
Interesting, I knew nothing about that. Cubase points to a log file that doesn't exist.
44 crash logs! Workflow at is finest! :P
I'll be back later after I crash it.
Done!
Sent email and upoloading.
Thanks
