I mainly work with electronic, pop and hip hop. When my kick hits 1/8th notes, my limiter goes hot. I understand going hot on build up and rolls but every few measures the kick hits 1/8ths, is this "ok"?
im using a kick with a heavy bottom end around 30~50hz. im just assuming but perhaps the "releasing" frequency overlaps with the incoming signal and therefore builds up the low end causing it to peak above yellow?
If this is something to avoid, what are some common practices to prevent this from happening while maintaining the characters of my kick?
