Mono plugin versions

What is the purpose of the mono versions of plugins like Pro-C and Pro-Q? I assume that they're for use on mono tracks but why not use the (regular) stereo version instead? Are the mono versions less CPU-intensive? Any other advantage?

Hi pattste,

Yes, the mono versions use roughly half the CPU that the stereo versions use! And when using many instances during mixing, that's quite important :-)

Cheers,

In addition, some hosts turn a mono track into a stereo track if you insert a stereo plug-in.
