Pro-Q 64-bit or 32-bit with Logic + Lion?
Hi,
I am using Logic Pro (latest update) with Lion. I have noticed that Logic sounds better when launched in 64-bit mode. The difference is not very big, but it is there. The interesting fact is that when I use Pro-Q (64-bit) with Logic, there is a slight deterioration of the leading edges (again, subtle, but existent), whereas if I use Pro-Q 32-bit (always with Logic in 64-bit) I cannot tell the difference with or without the plug-in on. The latter case is equivalent to using the EQ built-in in Logic, with which I cannot tell the difference either. The A/B tests were done in an extremely transparent system with the EQs flat. Problem is that using the 32-bit version of Pro-Q with Logic launched in 64-bit the Pro-Q window stays in the background and I have had some strange "overload" messages. Any clue here? This must be a glitch on the 64-bit version of Pro-Q...
