Pro-Q analyzer choppy animation
Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this about the meters in Pro-Q and to a lesser extent Pro-L...
I've been using Pro-! since before 1.1, before there were options to change the analyzer settings like resolution and falling speed. I've always considered the analyzer quite good, but have noticed with the recent upgrades that anything that requires constant animation (Pro-Q analyzer, Pro-L graph...) the animation is choppy. I don't mean like the framerate is low like when video games get bogged down, it's more of a rhythmic freezing, where it will be smooth as silk for about half a second, then freezes for a shorter time, then back. If a track I'm working on is in the right tempo, it actually looks like the Pro-Q analyzer is jumping and falling to the beat. I'm running the 64-bit AU version of Pro-Q and Pro-L under Logic 9.1.4 on a mac with a capable, though not high end, Nvidia graphics card (not integrated graphics like in laptops).
Sound is not affected in any way, and since this problem was not present in older versions of Pro-Q, I'm led to believe that there was a change in how the plugin is rendered that is causing this. I wish I was more technically inclined to give more detail, but hopefully someone here knows what I'm talking about.
Thanks,
Adam
Dear People of the future, the newest version of Pro-Q , 1.12, has resolved this issue. Everything is much smoother now. Thanks Fabfilter team!
