Timeless 2 & Volcano 2 sidechain

In Cubase 5 I set up the VST3 sidechains of these 2 plugins up in no-time.

In Pro-C I know the sidechain triggers the compression according to the incoming external sidechain signal, and by adjusting the attack and release.

But how does this operation work in Timeless 2 & Volcano 2? Does the effect imediately take place when the sidechain signal comes in? Or is it apropriate to create en envelope first and set that to sidechain routed to the input/output/dry/wet/volume so one can have more control?

I have a Timless 2 going on on the percussion triggered by the kick sidechain, which doesn't sound bad at all. But I guess the processed delay signal ducks and gets back up very quick when the kick stops playing right?

Thanks!

Jovas

Hi Jovas,

In both Timeless 2 and Volcano 2, the external side chain signal is available as an input for the EF (envelope follower) and EG (envelope generator) sources. You can then subsequently modulate any target with these sources.
