Issue - Broken Copy & Paste Settings functionality between Major Versions [Mar 16, 2026 Release]

Hi!

I was glad to hear about the expanded copy/paste functionality to FabFilter's product line, as this is indeed a welcome workflow improvement for users. Especially when loading or migrating existing/older projects (which previously used older legacy versions of FabFilter plugins) over to their newer current major versions.

Note: I don't have any expectations of being able to copy/paste from newer to older major versions of FabFilter plugins.

But I would expect that users should be able to copy the preset settings from an older version of a plugin over to their newer major updates of those same plugins.

However, I am currently experiencing some issues when attempting the copy/paste functions in this initial Mar 16, 2026 release.

(It appears all formats are affected by these issues equally - whether they be VST 2 / VST 3 / CLAP - Although, I never installed/tested AAX)

WORKING COPY/PASTE:
----------------------------

I have had success copy/pasting settings from the clipboard for older to newer major versions of these following plugins.

Pro-Q 2.29
Pro-Q 3.28
Pro-Q 4.11

It seems that settings from both Pro-Q 2.29 and Pro-Q 3.28 can successfully be pasted into Pro-Q 4.11, which is excellent!

And is certainly faster than the older work-around of saving/reloading of preset files between these versions.

(albeit, it does appear that copy/paste functionality may currently be broken between Pro-Q 2 and Pro-Q 3)

NON-WORKING COPY/PASTE:
----------------------------------

The main issues I am having are that I am unable to copy/paste settings from the clipboard between major versions of these following plugins.

Note: these same preset settings will all still work when using the older workaround - of saving/loading between these same major versions. It is just not working when copy/pasted.

Pro-C 2.21 to Pro-C 3.01
Issue: Warning prompt - "Information - Could not paste from the clipboard. Unknown parameter: Sidechain low enabled."

Pro-L 1.36 to Pro-L 2.25
Issue: Paste option doesn't appear within Pro-L 2.25, when settings are copied to clipboard from Pro-L 1.36. [i.e. "Paste" option appears greyed out]

Pro-R 1.19 to Pro-R 2.05
Issue: Paste option doesn't appear within Pro-R 2.05, when settings are copied to clipboard from Pro-R 1.19. [i.e. "Paste" option appears greyed out]

Volcano 2.40 to Volcano 3.08
Issue: Paste option doesn't appear within Volcano 3.08, when settings are copied to clipboard from Volcano 2.40. [i.e. "Paste" option appears greyed out]

Timeless 2.40 to Timeless 3.09
Issue: Paste option doesn't appear within Timeless 3.09, when settings are copied to clipboard from Timeless 2.40. [i.e. "Paste" option appears greyed out]

Saturn 1.30 to Saturn 2.12
Issue: Paste option doesn't appear within Saturn 2.12, when settings are copied to clipboard from Saturn 1.30. [i.e. "Paste" option appears greyed out]

Twin 2.40 to Twin 3.06
Issue: Paste option doesn't appear within Twin 3.06, when settings are copied to clipboard from Twin 2.40. [i.e. "Paste" option appears greyed out]

I'm hoping you could investigate these issues and provide a fix, because being able to copy/paste from older to newer major versions of your plugins would be a great workflow improvement.

Tested on:
Windows 11 25H2 [build 26200.8037]
Using:
FL Studio 25.2.5 [build 5319]
With:
FabFilter Total Bundle (Mar 16, 2026 release)
FabFilter Legacy plugins updates (Mar 16, 2026 releases)
