I'm running Fab Filter Pro Q3 with Digital Performer.

I'm not finding any tutorials about using the Pro Q3 Sidechain with Performer.

Specifically, I'm Mixing a lead VOC trk with heavy background vocals on a separate trk. I want to duck 500Hz on the backgrounds while the lead VOC trk sounding.

So, I set up bus 1 on the lead VOC trk to feed the Pro Q3 sidechain on the background trk. Then, in the sidechain box on the Pro Q3 inserted on the Background trk I chose bus 1.
So, the lead VOC should now be triggering the Pro Q3 on the background trk. Is this the correct way to patch the sidechain ??

You still need to set a dynamic band to react to the external side-chain. You can do so by expanding the dynamic menu via the "Auto" button at the top and select the external side-chain.
