How to use Match EQ?

I can't get Match EQ to work. I have a reference track in my DAW and I want to use that for the target track. I see that it's anlysing that track but the Match button is greyed out.

Here's a screenshot:

What am I doing wrong?

hello Marco Raaphorst not sure but in the screenshot you have provided it seems like the track you want to eq match isnt playing.
i dont know what daw you are using but ( im using fl studio) but i think you generally have to play the song ( both tracks the main as well as the reference) while eq matching
also it seems like you are eq matching the wrong track
ill assume that the refrerence one is the one, you want the other track to be matched to, so you have to go to target vo and do eq match there then choose the reference vo as ur reference
then you need to actually play the tracks so the audio gets recorded then you should be able to press the match button

Thanks, so they need to play at the same time? I was thinking first you need to 'scan' the reference track and then match it with the target track. I am using Reaper here by the way. Also using Ableton and Reason.

i think you can do one first and then the other. in which order doesnt matter i think not sure though but they at least have to be played once
i just think its easier to play them at the same time most of the time
btw have you tryed it again now and did it work this time

Thanks! I think I understand it now.
