I'm trying to use two of the same type of filter at the same time but it won't work (Pro-Q 3)

I have two narrow band pass filters activated, but they're both disabled even though the power button icon is enabled for them. If I click one of the icons off, then the other one comes on automatically. But if both icons are turned on, neither filter will be enabled.

Hi Woo,

can you send an email to info@fabfilter.com with a small video of the issue?

Ralph (FabFilter)

my assumption is that this is expected, as the filters are in series. filter 1 cuts everything except a narrow band. filter 2 cuts everything except a different narrow band (including cutting wherever the first band was, rendering it's range silent). though wherever filter 2 is was already cut out by filter 1, leaving filter 2's band silent. They are cancelling each other out in a way. Perhaps you want filters in parallel instead, via something like Volcano3.

Yes, you're right. I figured that out soon after I made this topic. I guess I'll check out Volcano3 when I need to do this again. Thanks. Otherwise I guess I would have to use two instances of Pro-Q 3 on separate tracks and then combine them.
